Kidz-home is pleased to support two key charities dedicated to the well being of children. Portions of the proceeds from the sale of each playhouse go to support our selected charities listed below. Inspiration for Kidz-home philanthropy originates from ‘June’s Story’.
June’s Story
June was born in 2014 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada. She was a cute bundle of joy, vivacious in personality from day one,…and thankfully still is! It might not be the case had it not been for the loving and specialized care June has received over the past 7 years, and continues to receive, from the specialized Doctors and Nurses at the Stollery Children’s Hospital located in Edmonton, Alberta.
Shortly after June’s birth she displayed symptoms of ill health; shortness of breath, poor skin colour and an abnormal absence of a sense of well-being. Concerned, we booked an appointment with our Doctor who in turn referred June to the specialists at Stollery Children’s Hospital. After careful examination it was determined our dear June had a condition referred to as ‘swiss cheese heart’, a congenital disorder that at birth left June with numerous small holes in her heart, holes that would need to be surgically corrected if June was to live.
Over these past 7 years, with numerous trips to the Stollery, and many surgeries by Stollery Doctors, we are so pleased to report June has recovered from her disorder and is now living a full and happy life.
Our gratitude to the specialized care givers at the Stollery is immeasurable and our joy in seeing our little June living life to its fullest is equally limitless!
